After cleaning you see what is really going on
A clean facade shows which joints have genuinely worn away, where the cracks run and whether the lead still seals. So we walk the facade with you once more after cleaning, before the repair work starts.
Two weeks of drying is not excessive
Repaired pointing needs two weeks to cure and dry fully. Impregnate sooner and you seal moisture in and the treatment loses its effect. Those two weeks decide whether it lasts ten years.
The fixed order
- Cleaning with pre-treatment and warm water
- Repairing pointing and cracks, replacing lead where needed
- Two weeks of drying time
- Impregnating to full saturation
- Sealant and expansion joints last
